We run airline and business jet focused upset recovery courses helping to give pilots the skill to recognise and recover from unusual attitudes. From 20 December 2019 a new regulation came into force mandating commercial pilots to have attended and passed this course before starting their first type rating.
Our Advanced UPRT courses in accordance with FCL.745.A, are certified by EASA. We also run Instructor Training Courses for Adv UPRT instructors, again certified by EASA.
Recent history is full of incidents and accidents associated with loss of control of Airline and Business jet aircraft and control either not being regained in a timely manner or not being regained at all. This worrying trend has been identified by the various regulatory authorities and from 20 Dec 19 student pilots will be required to undergo appropriate training.
The advanced UPRT course is designed to meet the requirements of Part-FCL 745.A
Theoretical knowledge instruction
Dual flight instruction with a suitably qualified FI(A) ref FCL.915(e)
Pre-flight briefings and post-flight debriefings
On completion of the UPRT course, applicants will be issued with a certificate of course completion by the British Aviation Academy.
I was greeted by Marta on arrival to Fowlmere with a happy atmosphere which set me up for a great day’s flying with Maciej in aircraft that were in good condition. The Adv UPRT was well taught by my knowledgeable and friendly instructor and they all can not do enough to make it as enjoyable as possible. Would definitely recommend.
I completed my Advanced UPRT at British Aerobatic Academy, I had a great time and loved the experience. The staff were very friendly and the training was excellent. I would definitely recommend this school.
Attended British Aerobatic Academy for aUPRT. A great school with excellent staff and instructors who kept things fun throughout – couldn’t recommend enough!
Amazing across the board.
The best aircraft and instructors in the country. The people are super nice and welcoming and the customer service was great (the aircraft i was due to fly ran in to problems and I ended up with a massive upgrade at no.cost).
I had a really good experience. Probably the most enjoyable part of my training. Theory concise and engaging by Danielle, dispatched via Zoom in one day. The flying made enjoyable and challenging by some great and very experienced instructors (Maciej and Aiden for me).
Can’t recommend BAA enough, cost effective and well run. Everyone is very approachable and Adrian (owner) is always on hand.
Exercises to demonstrate:
The course costs £1,290 and takes 2 days but allow 3 so we have some weather contingency. We fly Grob and Extra Aircraft. We start at 0900 on day 1 and aim to complete 5 hours ground school and 1 hour of flying. On day 2 we aim to complete 2 hours of flying as realistically that is the maximum people can do in one day.The third day is a contingency day.
We recommend either Air B & B or Holiday Inn in Royston, Duxford or Whittlesford Parkway.
If the above date works for you, please send a deposit of £700 to secure the booking. This is not refundable but because of coronavirus, we are happy to reschedule if events demand it. We do not put you in the diary until your deposit is received and it normally takes 3 days from overseas. We will collect the remaining £590 on day 1 by cash or card.
The course is a pass fail course as mandated by EASA, of course we do not expect you to fail, we have never had anybody fail and before we failing you and potentially destroying your commercial flying career, we would offer you extra training etc. however we do require full payment before the course starts. We ask for a deposit to secure the booking, normally £700, this is non refundable, because it costs us a lot of money to run our very expensive aircraft and our excellent instructors. We keep our profit margins to the minimum necessary (this is why despite our aircraft being the best, we are still able to charge approximately half the price of our competitors) to give a sound business footing and running courses below capacity is very costly given the very high fixed overheads.
If you are unable to complete the course, we will not refund any part of the course fee. If you air sick in the aircraft, and make a revolting mess, we will expect you to clean it up and if you do not or do not do a proper job, we will clean it up and charge you an expensive but fair price.
If you fail to turn up for an agreed appointment, or turn up in a condition that makes you not fit to fly, we will endeavour to look after you but if the cause is laziness, we reserve the right to charge you to reschedule.
So far in many years of trading, we have never had a single complaint. We naturally hope to continue this excellent record of service.
